Comet 17P/Holmes on 11/2/2007

Tonight, the clouds are making continuous viewing difficult, but I was able to snag this image of the comet. (It’s not as good as some of my other images of it because of the intermittent clouds.) To the naked eye it’s clearly fuzzy now, but also the light it is reflecting is more diffused and so it’s not quite as apparently bright as it was a week ago. Since I first started observing it (my first observation was on 10/26/07) its area has grown by over 10 and a half times. I have added the image to my continuing time lapse image that I’ve been posting, but figured I’d give everyone a rest from that for a bit and maybe just post that every week or so.
